Rayner, who is serving her second term in Parliament, shared the news with her followers on social media, writing: "Couldn't be prouder of my daughter for giving birth to a beautiful baby boy. Overwhelmed with joy and love to be a grandmother." The new arrival has yet to be named.
Rayner's personal milestone comes amidst her busy political career. She currently serves as Shadow Secretary of State for Education and is a vocal advocate for social justice and equality.
