Alex de Minaur Withdraws from Wimbledon Quarterfinal with Hip Injury

Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur has withdrawn from his Wimbledon quarterfinal against Novak Djokovic due to a hip injury.

The 23-year-old de Minaur was scheduled to face the top-seeded Djokovic on Wednesday, but he announced his withdrawal on Tuesday night.

De Minaur has been struggling with the hip injury since last week, and he said that he was unable to play at 100 percent capacity.

"I'm really disappointed to have to withdraw from Wimbledon, but I'm not able to play at the level that I need to to compete at this stage of the tournament," de Minaur said in a statement.

De Minaur's withdrawal is a major blow to the Australian contingent at Wimbledon. He was the last remaining Australian in the men's singles draw, and he was hoping to make a deep run into the tournament.

Djokovic will now advance to the semifinals, where he will face either Cameron Norrie or David Goffin.
