Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson tipped to join Premier League giants Liverpool
Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson, describing him as "unbelievable".
Nicol believes that the 20-year-old forward is destined to play for a top Premier League club, with Liverpool being his most likely destination.
Johnson has been in impressive form for Forest this season, scoring 12 goals in 27 Championship appearances.
His performances have caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs, with Liverpool reportedly among those interested in signing him.
Nicol, who played for Liverpool from 1981 to 1995, is a big fan of Johnson and believes he has the potential to become a top player.
"I think he's unbelievable," Nicol told ESPN FC.
"He's got everything you want in a forward. He's quick, he's strong, he can score goals, he can create chances."
"I think he's destined to play for a top Premier League club. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at Liverpool."
Johnson is under contract with Forest until 2024, but it is believed that Liverpool are prepared to pay a significant fee to sign him this summer.
If Johnson does make the move to Liverpool, he will be following in the footsteps of some of the club's greatest players, including Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler, and Michael Owen.
